6 To 3 03:18
We promised to nurture But what of their future? Little girls and little boys They’re taking away your choice A suit and a red tie a black cloak spitting in your eye You thought all of this was yours But they’re gonna punish all the little whores My delusion of self, dissolved Their delusions of the problem they solved Now my greatest possession Is the yoke of oppression My mind, my flesh It belongs to me You can have my anger But you can’t take my body Kind sir may I have another? And while I’m at it can I fuck your brother? I’ll use my Plan B pill So no blood has to spill My mind, my flesh It belongs to me What a woman does a woman does And we lost that 6 to 3

Property 03:28
You’re using their bodies as battering rams Under the guise of progression, but you don’t give a damn It’s money and weapons and racist decrees Sexism forcing them down on their knees Well we’re tired of being your pacifist drones A call to force you to leave women alone Well we’re here to stare silent while you call the cops So they can sit with a cold one, count the women they’ve shot Not your property They’re not your bodies and they hate your guts So focus on your golf swing and your shriveled white nuts It’s pious, judgmental, hypocritical shit And hillbilly votes and fucking halfwits Well we’re tired of being your pacifist drones A call to force you to leave women alone Well we’re here to stare silent while you call the cops So they can sit with a cold one, count the women they’ve shot Not your property We’ll watch all the clinics turn into Churches and gun ranges And sit in the bank and watch the families starve.

about

Discouraged. Outraged. Frightened. Angry. Unheard.

These are the words I kept hearing from my friends, family, and fellow Joy Thieves as they described how they were feeling in the days following the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe vs. Wade earlier this year. And while it can certainly be hard to know what to do with feelings like those, The Joy Thieves did what we ALWAYS do: we created.

And while it felt extremely satisfying to be able to express some of the resentment and anger we are feeling about this tragic injustice….we also quickly realized that recording and releasing a few songs simply wasn’t going to be enough. Not this time.

Now, more than ever, pro-choice organizations need MONEY to keep operating. This is exactly why The Joy Thieves will be donating 100% of the money raised from the sale of the ‘6 To 3’ EP, and its accompanying line of exclusive t-shirts and hoodies to the National Network of Abortion Funds. It is a real-world way that we can offer some assistance.

Friends, it is no coincidence that today is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The Joy Thieves chose to release ‘6 To 3’ on this day in particular, because we truly believe that any political attempt to restrict medical care for women IS an act of violence. If you agree that all women should have complete control over their own medical decisions, including the right to determine whether, when, and how to create a family…help us raise some much-needed money for an organization that is built for EXACTLY that purpose.
